Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador
|Manada Pequeña Church in Santo Domingo de los Colorados|
We arrived in Santo Domingo with much excitement. Brother Jofre Peña, a fondly remembered friend from my time in Santo Domingo de los Colorados (SDDLC) as a young 18 year old waited for us expectantly at the busy street interesection.
As he saw the car approaching, he recognized me, and rushing to the car greeted us. He did not recognize anyone else in the vehicle at the time as he had not yet physically met Brother Raul Londoño, and it had been years since he had seen Brother José Álvarez. But he recognized me
instantly from the many services he has watched on the internet for the last few years.
As there was no room in the little car (ask Billy,Pancho, or Dr. Montoya and they will know what I am talking about) he hired a taxi and we followed him to his house.
His family received us with great joy and I was so happy that I still recognized Brother Jofre´s wife who I had not seen in over 25 years! I was truly amazed and suprised at the reception we received. Nothing fancy, but sooooooo heartfelt. It was very hard to keep my emotions under control as I saw that the Peña family had such love in their hearts for us.
At service Thursday night Bernabé Nicholás Camacho García III (Tres) brought the message. I think this is really the first time that I have even heard him preach (not being primary a testimony). It was an incredible perfomance as he brought the audience into the scene of the woman washing Jesus´s Dirty Feet. He spoke directly in Spanish with slight pauses every once in a while as he searched for the right word, but every eye was on him and he was clearly understood.
Everyone was very happy and many received blessings as they understood that no matter what their situation was Jesus was never late to any of his appointments.
|Brother Flavio Villagomez and his wife Nora|
Brother Flavio was very happy to see me, and he has a beautiful family that he introduced me too. It was such a joy to see his wife Nora who was my original Spanish teacher when I was living in Santo Domingo for two months as a nineteen year old.
The church has a tambourine section of about 8 players that are awesome. They practiced with Tres to be able to perform Hallellujah Friday evening in service. It was fun, and it is amazing how much they already knew about the way I play, everyone had questions asking me how to do what I do.

At 10 A.M. this morning I had a question and answer session at the church with those members that congregate with Brother Jofre Peña. They had many questions to ask, and very good questions too. It seems that most were very happy with the answers, but the very nature of the questions lead me to understand that a program of continuing help is needed for this church in order to help them establish themselves completely and to heal them from the traumas they have suffered in the past.
Tres practiced with the young people again getting the special down pat.
Service is later tonight, scheduled for 6:00 PM local time (4PM Phoenix, Arizona time). By God´s grace, i8f he permits we will be broadcasting LIVE the service from Santo Domingo de los Colorados.
