Tuesday 15 September 2009After a night of rest in Phoenix, Arizona, I flew to Mexico City and was picked up at the airport by Brother Javier Montero. My original plan when I booked my flight, was to go with my wife and celebrate “El Grito”, in downtown Mexico.
However, my wife could not accompany me because of school, and I heard upon my arrival that downtown had already been closed off and if I wanted to make it down there I would have to walk about 2 kilometers. Yeah right! That ended that idea.
So, instead, I enjoyed a nice quiet evening of fellowship at Brother Montero's house.
Wednesday 16 September 2009
The next morning being Wednesday we went to eat at Brother Luis's house where we had a huge Rib-eye steak. OMG it was delicious! Brother Luis is the husband of sister Gabby, and the father of the young lady Jacqueline. I had prayed for Jacqueline's mother when we were at the youth camp of 2008. Then a few months later when we were in Valle de Chalco meetings, I met her mother, and prayed with and for her and her house.
At that time I told her that her husband would come to the Lord quickly because he WAS a child of God. The Catholic-to-the-bone husband could not believe what I was saying, but from that day on something happened in his life. They shared the testimony with me as we were fellowshipping. How wonderful our God is!
That evening, we had service at Brother Montero's church. I shared a little bit of my testimony, some of the things the Lord had done in my life. For example, speaking the word and promising a baby to my aunt when I was thirteen years old. Raising the little fish from the dead when I was seventeen years old, and other instances where the Lord had shown his mighty power through this insignificant one.
The presence of the Lord was very strong, and without any call at all the altar was filled with people turning their hearts over to the Lord. In particular my mind is drawn to the young lady who was wearing white sweats that came bawling her heart out to the Lord. The Lord dealt mightily with her.
Thursday 17 September 2009Today was the day for the Obreros (Workers or laborers) training. Of the three ministers slated to teach these meetings only Brother Jesús Rosales showed up. He took the morning session, and I divided the afternoon session between Brother Pedro Pineda and myself.
All the training sessions were good, but Brother Pedro Pineda was absolutely outstanding in his teaching.
Brother Dr. Montoya and Brother Gerson of Phoenix, Arizona arrived late at night. I was happy when they finally showed up because we had delayed eating dinner so that we could eat with them.
Friday 18 September 2009Since today was a youth day, and the youth were going to spend the morning at a local park, I decided that I would take Brother Montoya to see the pyramids of Teotihuacan. He had wanted to see them from some time, so I arranged to make that possible.
He actually walked all the way up the pyramid, but I enjoyed the view from ground level! We drove back to Valle de Chalco in time to hear the message of the young man that ministered at the 3:00 p.m. youth service that afternoon.
After service I was in several meetings with various people about certain problems that had to be dealt with. It is always a humbling experience to be trusted with the problems and cases that people have. May God help and bless them with victory over their difficulties.
Saturday 19 September 2009
Brother Montoya brought the teaching at both the 10:00 a.m. service and the 3:00 p.m. service, and he did a truly amazing job of raising the faith and expectations of the people. This teaching was for a half hour before the regular service. During the regular service in the morning, Brother Javier Montero and Brother Pedro Pineda both spoke about fifteen minutes each.Brother Gerarado Lara and Brother They did an excellent job.
In the evening service, Brothers Gerardo Lara and Eligio Gamez spoke about twenty minutes each and Dr. Montoya closed the service up. He called for a prayer line, and it was a long one. There was much deliverance.
The people rejoiced for a long time singing and praising God after the prayer line was over. Dr. Montoya's song (Machacalo) was sang with much gusto and there was much joy in the camp.
Sunday 20 September 2009On Sunday morning Brother Ernest Montoya gave an hour teaching. As always his teachings are right on the mark and they stir up a lot of faith. During the regular service preaching I decided to do a mini concert and I spoke a few moments and then had Brother Javier Martinez sing “Cuando te conoci” (When I met you a change took place in my life).
I then spoke a little more, and he sang another song, then I spoke a little more and then another song, and by then the people were all ready, turning their hearts over to the Lord Jesus Christ, and those that had not yet received their blessings reached out to touch the hem of Jesus Christ's garments.
It was wonderful to see, as Pastor Frumencio Martinez closed the service with a mighty altar call and prayer that shook the building. Truly it was wonderful to be in service that morning.
After service, the Lord continued to restore families in the privacy of the counseling meetings, and I would like to thank Brother Pedro Pineda and Dr. Montoya for assisting me in those meetings. Without their experience and wisdom there may have been a less glorious result. But praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ for delivering every single person that we counseled.
Monday 21 September 2009We were all taken to the airport at the same time since our flights although on different airlines were leaving at roughly the same time. Dr. Montoya on Delta, I on Continental, and Gerson on American Airlines. I was fortunate to be upgraded to first class on both of my flights—Praise God for such favor!
Now I have a few days to rest before having to depart for Brazil on September 24, 2009 where I will be ministering for a month. I return to the United States on October 24, 2009 in time to celebrate my father's 76th birthday on October 26, 2009.
