September 10, 2009—Thursday—Travel day.
I get to the airport, everybody is still talking about the Bolivian minister that hijacked an AeroMexico flight because of the 999 date (666 upside) yesterday. Boy, I'm glad I was not anywhere near that person. He is lucky it did not end in bloodshed.
I am glad that I decided to return today instead of tomorrow (I purposely decided when making this itinerary to NOT fly on the anniversary of 9/11).
It was a very long, long, travel day as I flew from Perú, to Panama City, to Houston, and then finally on to San Francisco where I was picked up at the airport by my Brother Titus Moreira, taken to eat a wonderful prime rib dinner, and then left with a borrowed car at the Crowne Plaza.
I got some much needed, and if I must say so myself, much deserved rest, taking full advantage of my approved request for a late 2:00 p.m. check out time.
September 11, 2009—Friday
After checking out of hotel, I drove to The City to check out an outstanding rumor that I had heard. It turned out the rumor was true.
Just a few short blocks from the Brazilian embassy in downtown San Francisco is a five story building which is home to the oldest Chess Club in America, the Mechanic's Institute. What a beautiful facility. Definitely worth being a member of, and worth driving down to for anyone who enjoys the wonderful game of chess.
I drove back to Santa Clara, joined Titus and his wife Lidia and we started on to Wattsonville for service. On the way there we stopped at the most delicious chinese restaurant, right off of the 85 on Santa Teresa exit.
Brother Titus preached a wonderful sermon that night on Mal 4:1-6 and Revelations 10:7. After service we drove back to Santa Clara where I would be lodged for the rest of my stay there.
OH MY GOD! What a SOFT and very comfortable bed I was given. May God bless this couple's soul for the royal treatment that they give me. It makes me want to move in with them (LOL).
September 12, 2009—Saturday
Special service in Wattsonville, California. I preached on II Samuel 7:1-5, 12-13. David wanted to do something for God in appreciation for the fact that David had rest from all his enemies.
The prophet Nathan knew that God was with David so he automatically assumed everything to be okay.
But God asked David “Would you build me a house to dwell in?” “A house for me?”
God told David someone from the lineage of his loins would build him a house.
Acts 7:44-50
Hebrews 11:8-10 Abraham understood that God was the builder.'
Ephesians 2:19-22 we are told that we are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
We are warned in I Corinthians 3:10-11, 16 that we must take heed—you who build, how you build.
And finally in Psalms 127:1 we are told that unless God builds the house we labor in vain.
You do NOT build a house for God, He builds a house for Himself.
Leadership (Branham 12/7/65) paragraph 115 – “The Word of the Lord, sometimes you have to put it in its right place or its not the will of the Lord”
September 13, 2009—Sunday
At the dedication service at 4:00 p.m. I used Revelations 21:1-5. I read from the Seal Book page 4 where Brother Branham talks of how to behave in the tabernacle.
I went to page 12 where Brother Branham teaches how the true Son of David will build the true tabernacle of God. These buildings we worship in are only temporary places, awaiting the time when the true tabernacle of God be complete.
After service I had a long talk with Brothers José Romero Dimas and Jorge Melgar about the work in Fresno.
We drove back to Santa Clara where I had one hour sleep before getting up to go to the airport for my 6:15 a.m. flight back to Phoenix on Delta Airlines vía Salt Lake City... I arrived home at 10:30 a.m.
Bernie Tres picked me up and took me to breakfast with my brother Joseph and my Dad. Afterwards I went to pick up my cousin Nat García who was gracious enough to come in on his day off and give me a much needed haircut and shave.
Gentleman Joe's
I would like to say here and now that if you ever come into Phoenix, Arizona, you have GOT to visit the Gentleman Joe's Barbershop on Adams and 1st Street in downtown Phoenix and have Brother Nathaniel García give you the Gentlemen Joe's Finest—a tremendous bargain at only $40.00 it includes a shampoo haircut, precision cut, shave and facial, shoulder massage, head massage and professionally shined shoes.
I fall asleep every single time and feel soooo awesome afterwards. I want to take the time to thank my Brother Joseph C García for comping me with such a great service when I am in town. It really helps to relieve my travel stress.
